Application to future organic devices requires detailed information of interface structures and relavent electronic properties. We are studing the chemical changes and consequent energy level alignment at the interfaces.

 

Pentacene-based Organic Thin Film Transisitors

Pentacene is one of the most promising semiconductor materials among conjugated organic molecules. Since its mobility is reaching far more than an acceptable value, the structure and interface contact comprising the pentacene is a current issue. Using a conventional surface analysis tools, we measure interface energy level alignment upon device stacking.

Modification of Cathode Materials in OLED structure

Alkali metal or alkali halide materials are widely used as an eletron injection promoter for OLED structures. Insertion of such materials reduces energy barrier for electron injection by interface dipole  iformation.The energy level alignment and chemical reaction at the  interface can be measured by the conbimation of UPS and XPS techniques.
